What does your donation help fund?

Roots is working to develop a network of collaborating farms throughout San Diego and help connect people with food that is grown locally and sustainably. The Seeds at City Urban Farm and La Milpa Organica Farm are two successful examples of farms in this network.

One featured Roots goal is to develop an organic farm/education center near the San Diego urban core to provide ongoing farm, food and nutrition education to K-12 students, farm interns and the general public in addition to producing local healthy produce for the city and county.

In addition, we are continually educating the public at Food for Thought, our free film series, at La Milpa Organica Farm events, and at special events throughout the county.
