Seeds at City
City College Urban Farm
Come visit Saturdays and Tuesdays 9am - noon.
A collaborative project of San Diego Roots Sustainable Food Project, the City College Environmental Stewardship Committee and the San Diego Community College District.
Groundbreaking on this project took place June 7, 2008, with over 20 volunteers and community food activists coming together. San Diego City College, a member of the San Diego Community College District, is home to over 11,000 students, faculty and staff. Centrally located in downtown San Diego, it serves a diverse population of students who are predominantly low income.
The SDCC garden's purpose is to raise awareness, provide a launching point for greening the SDCC cafeteria and improve food options in the area. Curriculum will include elements of sustainable agriculture, diet, health, nutrition, environmental issues and other related topics.
